Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Spears was born the 2nd of
December 1981 in McComb, Mississippi & raised in Kentwood, Louisiana.
Britney was a dancer when she was a kid and has won numerous contests in
gymnastics. Britney is a singer, but most important, she was a fan of dance
classes. At age 8 Britney attempted to audition for The All New Mickey Mouse
Club (1989), but was rejected because of her age. Britney was later recommended
to Broadway's off-Broadway musical "Ruthless" in which she played the
title role for 2 years. At the age of 11, she tried again to be a part of The
All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989). It was a different time, she was one of the
mouseketeers along with other stars of today, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez
(*NSYNC) and Ryan Gosling. In the late 90s Britney was signed by Jive Recording
Artist. Following the release of her debut album"Baby One More Time"
"...Baby One More Time" in early 1999, Britney became an
international success with 13 million copies of "Baby" and 9 million
copies (as of July 2001) of her sophomore album "Oops !...I Did It
Again", released in May 2000. Britney was born to Lynne Spears (and Jamie
Spears) and has a huge sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was destined to be an
upcoming star at a young age. Britney loved singing and was influenced by
Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. After years of intensive vocal and dance
classes, and appearing in various talent shows and fairs, Britney auditioned
for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) television show [1989-1994] when she
aged eight, but was too young to play the part. Britney and her infant sister,
Britney relocated to New York, where she performed in a number of TV
commercials as well as an off Broadway play called "Ruthless" with
the direction of Natalie Portman. The love for dance and music grew and, 2
years later, she auditioned for an appearance on "Mickey Mouse" again
and, this time, she was awarded the part with Christina Aguilera and Justin
Timberlake.
