Maureen Denise McCormick, youngest daughter and sole child of Richard McCormick as well as Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills on 5 August 1956. Her father was an educator and her mother was at the house. Michael, Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick was a talented artist and dancer since the age of 6. She performed puppet shows for the children in her neighbourhood. The story of her fairytale started when she was just six years old, and she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest. Then she received a call to Pat Domigan, a talent agent at the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to join the show business. McCormick was hired to do her first job as a leading actor in a television commercial that featured Mattel's latest toy, Baby Pattaburp. Later that year, she appeared in a second commercial for the company's "Chatty Chatty" doll, and soon was included in the show"Wind It up until It Breaks, at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch' In 1969, McCormick was chosen from the 1,200 youngsters that auditioned for roles as the eldest of three towheaded daughters in the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds who have the family of a blended couple. It ran for five years. McCormick in her autobiography Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice released in 2008, stated that, in the 5th season of the show, McCormick almost lost her love for her brother Barry Williams. He was 19. He was 16. She stated that "it was likely to have happened" however the timing was not right.
